How did you find out about buckle up and what brought you here?
I learned about buckle up from Lukáš, my brother and buckle up’s co-founder. I have been following the development and direction of the company since the very beginning. Of course, I liked the working environment and atmosphere which I had the opportunity to see at company events such as The Pezinok Run or during some unexpected visits of mine to the company. Eventually, I started talking to Lukáš about giving me the opportunity to work for the company. His answer was always No. He never wanted to mix family and work, which I think was reasonable, until one day he approached me saying that he would like to give it a try. At that time, I already had another job and different plans, but one shall not reject an offer like this. It turned out quite well.
What do you see as the biggest advantage of working at buckle up?
Good and relaxed atmosphere with a good team. And the bosses? I could sing praises. I don’t say that because otherwise I would face salary deductions :)). No one breathes down my neck at work and home office, now we are more or less the masters of our time, of course we still have responsibilities and we try to approach them as responsibly as possible. During home office it is harder to maintain a good atmosphere, but everyone tries their best.
What was the most unpleasant situation you faced and how are such situations handled in your team?
I do not remember a specific case. There were projects where an error occurred and it was necessary to solve it, which is not the most pleasant thing. Of course, everything went well after some discussion and intervention. As long there is no life threatening situation… :)

Do you have a "recipe" for preventing burnout?
Having worked more than a year from home, I experienced all sorts of moods possible. For me it’s a good and healthy diet, plenty of physical activity and everything in moderation, even if it is unhealthy. Among other things, it is definitely good to share your feelings with someone you can always turn to. And, of course, the most important thing is to be able to switch off from work and focus only on your family or hobbies only.
Is there anything you'd be sad about if leaving buckle up?
Definitely table football, sometimes satisfying lunches, unless my colleagues would persuade me to order a salad, my colleagues themselves, Filip and his hour-long lively stories, as we used to share an office desk :( and even Pezinok which I grew to like over time.
So who is your favorite colleague?
It's hard for me to answer that + I cannot in order not to drag my family into it.
Do you prefer to work in the office or from home?
Personally, I prefer to have the choice. As I mentioned above: everything in moderation. There should be some balance everywhere, for example 15 days of work and 15 days of rest per month :D.
What do you like to eat at work?
Salads, haha. In Pezinok you can buy a tasty burger with homemade sauces, so that is a good example. In addition, anything else with little chilli.

What do you like to do in your free time?
I already have a son, so I don’t have much choice but to focus on him, of which I am, of course, grateful. We go for long walks together and we like to spend time on playgrounds, where we exercise together. So my "working day" ends sometime around 9:00 p.m. And then, if I don't fall asleep with him, I get an hour or two for myself blogging, investing or watching new movies, which my colleagues don't recommend, but I watch them anyway because my curiosity always wins. I also used to play computer games, but I don't have time enough for that at the moment.
Which trip with buckle up do you consider the very best?
Every single one was great, but New York City was definitely TOP for me! From steaks as big as an "elephant's ear", through high-rise buildings to collapsing of a colleague on the plane (with a happy ending). Simply the best.
Now a series of quick Q&As follows. What message would you give to your younger self?
"Don't mix work and family." Just kidding :D. We can separate this nicely. More like "Take care of yourself" and “What? You are 14 years old and still do not invest?! "
What is your favorite quote?
“Anything worth doing is worth doing badly.”
― G.K. Chesterton

What is your favorite computer/console game?
Counter strike 1.6 & GO, Dota, strategy games like StarCraft, which I've still been waiting for someone to beat me at and in this way maybe I'll motivate one of my colleagues to accept the challenge, but I don't know if I'll live to see it. :))
Coffee or tea?
Both coffee and tea. From personal experience, I do not recommend mixing green tea and strong coffee. It’s evil :).
Which country would you like to live in?
Somewhere by the sea. And not only like to live, but I will.
Which apps do you have installed on your smartphone?
Really a lot. I mostly use basic applications like Numbers, where I monitor my expenses, investments and mortgage status :(. I also use Notion to organize my life. Awaiting the running performance of my lifetime, because colleagues can persuade one to both a bad salad and 22-kilometre run (but otherwise they are fine…), you would find Strava there, which I have not used for a long time. A little longer answer than I planned.
